Vaccination
Vaccination for dogs, cats and rabbit are an essential aspect of responsible pet ownership. Vaccines help protect our pets from various infectious diseases that can be harmful or even fatal. The specific vaccines required may vary depending on factors such as your pet’s age, lifestyle, and geographic location. Common vaccines for dogs include those for distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis and leptospirosis.
For cats, vaccines typically cover diseases like feline herpesvirus, calicivirus, panleukopenia, and rabies. It is crucial to consult with a veterinarian who can provide further recommendations based on your pet’s needs. Regular vaccination schedules and booster shots are necessary to maintain their immunity and overall well-being.
For rabbits, we offer Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) vaccinations to protect them from this deadly virus. Trust us to keep your furry friends safe and healthy.
Microchip Implantation
Microchipping is a common and effective way to identify and track dogs and cats. It involves the insertion of a tiny microchip (12mm) under the skin of your pet, typically between the shoulder blades. The chip stores a distinct serial number that can be read by a RFID scanner.
Microchipping your pet is important for traceability and as an identification. It is not a substitute for other forms of identification such as collars or tags and does not work as a GPS tracker. However, a microchip does provide important information that can easily be retrieved when scanned by a device. Where the law is concerned, dog owners should be made aware that it is mandatory for dogs to be microchipped in Singapore as per regulations outlined by the Animal Veterinary Services (AVS) department.
Puppy and Kitten Care
We offer puppy and kitten general health check-ups that are vital in detecting any possible ailments (congenital, developmental or acquired) in your pet, helping your pet to remain healthy and free of disease. While there are no vaccinations for guinea pigs, rabbits can benefit from vaccination against Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) which is a highly contagious, acute and fatal disease of rabbits.
Unlike cats & dogs, pocket pets have continuously growing teeth that are delicate and susceptible to disease. Any abnormalities with their unique dentition may secondarily result in gut stasis, respiratory & ear disease. Our veterinarians possess expertise in this area and are able to provide sound advice on dental care to help keep your pocket pets teeth in optimal condition.
Parasite Prevention & Control
Parasite prevention and control is crucial to improve the overall health of your pet and minimize and illnesses that may arise from parasites. In general, it is critical to put all dogs and cats on a regular deworming program from a young age. Most infections are acquired from outdoor areas. Treatment is advised at least four times a year for adult animals or more often for young and higher risk animals.
