Our Doctors
Dr Wendy Chee
Unlike many, Dr Wendy Chee did not have a childhood dream to be a Veterinarian. The opening of different doors led her to pursue this profession and this is where she has remained.
Dr Wendy graduated from Western Australia in 2007 and has been practising in Singapore ever since. After continuing her education overseas, she has thoroughly enjoyed dealing with small mammals, especially focusing on rabbit and rodent medicine and surgery since 2011. Through her journey, Dr Wendy has met many like-minded vets and is inspired by the dedication of many small mammal specialists. Her other interests are dentistry and soft tissue surgery.
Dr Wendy is also a dedicated mother of 3 daughters. Her negligible free time is spent pretending to be a domestic goddess and on some ineffectual DIY home projects.
Dr Christine Ng
Dr. Christine Ng obtained a Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois, USA in 2010. Prior to that, she had been working as a chemical engineer in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Christine started her veterinary career in Texas, USA and practiced at an accredited American animal hospital before returning to Singapore in 2012.
Dr. Christine enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but is most interested in dermatology, dentistry, preventative and small animal exotic medicine.
Dr. Christine is also a proud owner of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. In her free time, Dr. Christine enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and attending continuing education.
Dr Bernice Cheng
Dr Bernice graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 2008 and has practiced with other clinics prior to joining Vet Central. She is a strong advocate of preventative healthcare and believes it is the cornerstone of responsible pet ownership.
Her interests include internal medicine, complementary therapies and exotic pet medicine. She is currently focused on improving her ultrasound skills and reading up on canine training and behaviour.
Outside of work, Dr Bernice spends most of her time caring for her dogs and taking them on adventures to new places in Singapore. She is the proud owner of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a pint-sized Singapore Special. She also enjoys yoga, watercolour and immersing herself in a good book.
Dr Mikayla Liow
Dr Mikayla Liow graduated from Murdoch University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing as a veterinarian in Singapore ever since.
Inspired by her love for animals since young, the choice to become a veterinarian came naturally to Dr Mikayla. Now pursuing her dream career, she treasures each patient she sees and is grateful for the opportunity to aid them. During her practice, she has also found great interest in exotic pet medicine and surgery. She is currently pursuing veterinary acupuncture.
Rabbits hold a special place in Dr Mikayla’s heart. She lives with 2 rabbits and also cares for her Border Collie and Shetland sheepdog. During her spare time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her family and pets.
Dr Ng Zi Yan
Dr. Zi Yan graduated from Massey University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. She decided to extend her stay in New Zealand for another 1.5 years to work in a companion animal veterinary clinic before making the move back to Singapore with her newly adopted cat, Steve, in tow.
Prior to being a vet, she worked as a veterinary nurse after graduating from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Veterinary Technology in 2015.
Dr. Zi Yan’s interests include soft tissue surgery and dentistry in companion animals.
In her free time, she likes to relax with Steve and tries her best to coerce her 2 Singaporean cats to befriend him. She also enjoys going on walks, rock climbing and spending time with her favourite people.
Dr Celine Wong
Dr Celine graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2023 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She is a strong advocate for using Fear Free certified techniques to ensure a positive experience for her patients.
Dr Celine's interests include avian and exotic animal medicine. She has accumulated over 2 years of vet nursing experience in clinics that focused on these species, both in Singapore and Australia. During her final year, she also completed attachments at various zoos and exotic animal clinics. Of all the species she has treated so far, she has a soft spot for rabbits and guinea pigs.
Dr Celine is a proud mother of two golden retrievers, Elsa and Troy, and two guinea pigs, Appa and Bumi. She enjoys teaching them new tricks and bringing her dogs for walks, swims, and volunteer sessions at nursing homes. Her other hobbies include crocheting and baking.
Dr Benjamin Lim
Dr Benjamin Lim graduated from Murdoch University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and elected to practice in Singapore upon the conclusion of his studies. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, he had a degree in Zoology and spent some time working in the research sector.
Dr Benjamin appreciates the different facets of veterinary medicine and is particularly interested in anesthesia, surgery and aquatic medicine. He believes that continuing education and effective client communication are paramount to ensuring the best quality of care for pets.
At home, he enjoys spending time with his two family cats and winds down by playing the guitar or going to the gym.
Our Nurses
Poh Geok
Poh Geok is a devoted veterinary nurse with a deep love for animals. Having the privilege to care and help our furry friends everyday is what keeps her going. Her work in the veterinary clinic allows her to combine her passion for animals with her commitment to their well-being. She shares her home with two adorable feline friends. These cats are not just pets; they are a part of her family. Their playful antics and companionship bring joy to her life, and she cherish the moments they spend together. Her life revolves around the well-being of our animal companions, and she wouldn’t have it any other way
Bernice
Bernice graduated with a Bachelor's degree in web communication. It was however, her love for animals especially dogs and rabbits that spurred her to join us as a veterinary nurse.
She is very keen to gain knowledge and experience in the veterinary industry. She has 4 lovely rabbits of which two were adopted. In her free time, she spends her time playing and fussing over her rabbits, listening to music and exploring good food places.
Brenda
Brenda is a passionate animal lover who made a transformative career switch from education to working with animals. She finds joy in every wagging tail and playful purr, and can chat with anyone for hours about all things pets.
She enjoys spending her free time making bone broths and cooking for her two dogs & has a particular soft spot for Singapore Specials.
Charlene
Charlene graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Bioscience from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2018. She has a hamster name “Kyoto” who frequently extorts treats from her. In her free time, she enjoys going on solo outings and learning to play her favourite movie soundtracks on the piano.
Chrislyn
Chrislyn or Chris as they fondly call her, has always had a part of her heart for the furry friends. She practiced for 5 years as a veterinarian in Philippines in a small animal practice and in a government veterinary office before moving to Singapore in 2011. Landing in a retail sector for a while, her passion and dedication to providing care for the animals redirected her to be a veterinary technician.
Chu Hui
Chu Hui does not own any pet of his own but has always been fascinated by animals ever since he was a young boy watching documentaries shown on TV. He decided to join as a Vet Nurse in order to learn more about the practice and to help care for animals in need. Apart from that, he enjoys outdoor adventures such as hiking, dragon boating, and being in peace with nature.
Dariah
Dariah graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Technology from Temasek Polytechnic. She has three cats at home named "Cookie", "Cupcake", and "Muffin" who are the very reason for her venturing into this industry in the first place. In her free time, she can spend hours on YouTube and TikTok alone, and playing games on her phone and computer.
Elina
Having grown up with animals, Elina always felt a strong connection to them. After more than a decade in the food and beverage industry, she's decided to make a career change and pursue her passion for caring for pets in their times of need. She looks forward to meeting more furry friends and deepening her understanding of the veterinary field.
In her spare time, Elina love to relax at home with her pets and reading on her Kindle.
Felicia
Felicia initially graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic with a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management. However, her unwavering love for animals has spurred her on to work as a veterinary nurse instead. She has a Singapore Special name ‘Reese, a rabbit ‘Enoki’ and a hamster named ‘Kuromi’.
Filzah
Filzah graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Veterinary Technology in 2017. She worked in a research field for a good 5 years before deciding to follow her passion which is clinical work. She started out at a shelter clinic as she wanted to do more for the community cats and dogs which she has a soft spot for. Filzah joined us in 2023 and would still volunteer her time with the animal shelter clinic on a weekly basis. She is passionate about stray sterilisation programmes and would volunteer her time to help out whenever she can.
She has 3 adopted guinea pigs and they are all named after Star Wars droids.
Haarish
Haarish studied fitness training and sports management, driven by a deep passion for athletics. Despite his background in sports studies, his love for animals led him to become a vet nurse.
Haarish enjoys spending time with his Japanese Spitz, Bum Bum and is eager to combine his enthusiasm for both fitness and pets in his career.
Koh Ying
Koh Ying graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Technology from Temasek Polytechnic in 2021 and was working in a small animal practice before joining Vet Central in 2023. She is owned by Myski, her young and energetic Shetland Sheepdog as well as a very chill Terrapin.
She enjoys long outings as well as picnics with Myski when she is not at work.
Molly
Molly graduated with a diploma in Veterinary Bioscience from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She has a soft spot for brown poodles just like her own dog. In her free time, she likes to bring her dog out and enjoys cafe hopping.
Shannen
Shannen studied business services but her childhood dream has always been to work closely with animals. She decided to join us at Vet Central this year and never looked back since. Other than spending time with her Japanese Spitz Jewel, Shannen also enjoys hiking and exploring nature, drawing and painting in her free time.
Yun Wei
Yun Wei graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Technology from Temasek Polytechnic in 2023 and joined us during her internship. She continued working with us while studying and eventually joined us full time in July 2023 as a core member of our team.
Yong Yong
Yong Yong has five naughty cats whom she adores. They serve as a huge source of motivation and a constant reminder for her to be empathetic in her interactions with patients at work. During her free time, she likes to go thrift shopping while sipping on a good cup of chocolate ice blended.
Mindy
Mindy is our Practice Manager. She has always loved all kinds of animals from reptiles to birds to mammals. Mindy likes creating spreadsheets and keeping things organised. She's a mother of 5 kids, a Mini Poodle, and 2 cats.
