Our consultant provides expert guidance in anaesthesia and complex cases, and has been instrumental in the development of our anaesthetic protocols, as well as in equipping our veterinarians with advanced clinical skills.
Dr Charly Pignon
DVM, EBVS, ECZM, DECZM (Small Mammal)
Dr Charly Pignon is a Diplomate of the European College of Zoological Medicine (Small mammals), member of its Executive
Committee, a member of the ICARE steering Committee, a board member of Yaboumba (French association for continuing
education in exotic and wild animals), and the president of the Association of Exotics Mammal Veterinarian (AEMV).
His field of interest are pain management and endoscopy in exotics medicine. His current field of research are ear surgeries and orthopedic surgeries in small mammals, and blood transfusion in ferrets.
In 2023, Dr Charly Pignon was the recipient of the 2023 Oxbow Exotic Mammal Health (QUEST) Award. Established in 2009, the QUEST is presented annually to an animal health professional who advances the field of exotic mammal medicine and care.
